Hello Birdies! How are all my lovely readers on this beautiful day!?
I’m a little late in posting these sneak peeks because we have had a hard few weeks dealing with the death of a dear family friend. However, I am back at work and catching up on backed up work..
On May 20th we had the ultimate pleasure shooting a beautiful commitment ceremony at the Benachi House in New Orleans. It was amazing, so incredibly sweet and perfect. The weather was a little hot for my liking but thankfully, Jen & Jamie made sure the guests were treated to Lemonade while they waited for the ceremony to begin.
I have to say, I have no problems with who you love, how you love or what you do to show your love. Unfortunately because it was not a technical “wedding” and it is illegal for them to marry, we celebrated their love and commitment with a ceremony. Jamie and Jennifer (yes, they’re both girls) had their commitment ceremony on one of the most gorgeous weather days in May. When Jen booked me, she shared stories of their problems finding people to shoot, cater, bartend, host their ceremony because of their situation. I truly enjoyed their wedding and think that they are both adorable in every way. If you have a problem with their love, give these photos a look and see if they can make you see that they are a perfectly normal couple.

This bible was used in most of the weddings in Jen’s family. It is old and beautiful. I adore this bible and it was probably the first item that caught my eye when I walked into the house![]()

Their ceremony had a very rustic antique feel to it and was so unique. Their wedding cake was very different and was not your traditional white cake.

Custom made cake toppers to match what the bride & groomella wore.. Seriously adorable. The details put into this wedding were amazing.

Jamie’s cake was pretty unique too.. I hear you have to be a real nerd to know what some of the things on this cake are ( I did get the nintendo controller.. after that I’m lost). Gotta love her..

Other than Jamie being a dork
, she tries to keep this real strong persona.. However, nothing can hold back tears when the one you love more than anything is walking down the isle..

They wrote their own vows or promises to each other and it was so sweet.. Again, Jamie cried.

The look on Jen’s face while Jamie was reading her vows was priceless.. You can just see the happiness.

Then came Jen’s turn to read her vows..

and again, Jamie cried..

..ring time..

& then the most wonderful seal to a handful of promises.. the kiss..

This was my second time shooting at the Benachi House and it is so magical! I adore this place beyond belief!
Jamie & her brother Randy aka “Randalicious”.. yes, I gave him that nickname.

adorable right??

I truly think New Orleans is the perfect setting for any occasion but especially weddings. I plan on getting married in New Orleans one day. It truly is my most favorite city ever!

I have no words for these photos.. I’m amazed at how perfect their day truly was..

The Benachi House has the most perfect staircase ever.. Want proof?

so charming..

Now Jamie did not wear a hat, due to Jennifer’s large amount of begging not to. hah.. BUT I’m sure she had them draw the hat on the bird so their was a hat somewhere in the wedding..
It was truly the most magical day.. As weddings almost always are. There is just so much love present. So whether you are a female loving a male, male loving a female, female loving a female, male loving a male, or male loving a dog (?.. I try not to judge), if you are sharing love, you are making the world a better place in my eyes.
